Our Mission
Building a sustainable future, one meal at a time
We believe that we can all act for change. One easy place to start with when it comes to reducing plastic waste is looking at how we consume when we eat. The average household has plastic everywhere - in their pantries and in their fridges - because this is the way we were taught to do things. Making small swaps to waste-less options is simple, but can be time-consuming and let’s face it — not everyone has the time to change! But, fear not. There is a way to do better!

The Loop Kitchen gives you the opportunity to have a positive impact on the planet while eating foods that are still delicious and Earth-conscious. We pride ourselves on sourcing our food completely plastic-free, teaming up with small Australian-based businesses to change our ways of operating in the food system. From sourcing our food to your table, there are no single-use plastics. Currently a one-woman operation, The Loop Kitchen is working within what's currently possible for us. As we grow, we want to expand our vision further with sustainability always at our heart. We want to create not only a sustainable business, but a lasting sustainable impact on the community.
Neutral Carbon Footprint
As we grow, we are aiming to deliver in a vehicle that has limited emissions. We currently deliver in the vehicule available to us, as purchasing a new vehicle when not necessary has a great carbon footprint. All vehicles have a carbon footprint, so we offset our emissions by using next to no plastic in our operations. We are also composting our food scraps. In the future, we'd like to support climate action operations and support local green initiatives.
Real Food for Real People
We work hard to avoid all packaging and make our food from scratch. While our goal is to eliminate packaging entirely, we can't guarantee that our ingredients haven't come into contact with plastic somewhere along the supply chain — Especially at this early stage of our small business journey. As we grow, we want to fight for change further up the chain and implement a circular economy model from the source.
Australian-Based Suppliers
Sourcing food from within the country is extremely important to us. That means we eat what nature gives us by following the seasons which is great for a varied diet and even better for the planet. We aim to source as to the Illawarra as possible, supporting local growers and small businesses.
Mobile Kitchen
Currently cooking within the available commercial kitchens in the Illawarra, our goal is to acquire a mobile kitchen — like a food truck built sustainably. We believe in repurposing, reusing, and recycling, so stay tuned for this exciting project that's yet to come to life!
Energy Efficient Delivery Vehicle
Currently delivering with the available resources, we aim to acquire an emission-free vehicle as soon as possible. We are also working to collaborate with local businesses to organize drop-off and pick-up locations. Interested in becoming a drop-off point? Get in touch!
Collaboration with Local Businesses
We want to inspire others to do better. Some products are currently extremely difficult to acquire without plastic (hello, delicious cheese!), and we would love to team up with local businesses to help them achieve more sustainable packaging or even reuse systems. Already inspired? Get in touch!
Join us on this sustainable journey to make a difference, one meal at a time. Together, we can build a future where sustainability isn’t just a goal — it’s a way of life!
